One of the girls I work with has a brother who is on the police force. She was telling me about these Luminox watches she found online and how she is thinking of getting him one for Christmas. I had never hear of them before, but apparently in 1989, the founder Barry Cohen found a need and filled it when he learned of a unique Swiss self-powered illumination system, and reasoned that this would be a very helpful addition to the watch business, making watches more visible and easier to read in low or no light situations. I was checking them out online and they are pretty cool watches. They come in a ton of different colors, with different types of bands. I am surprised Russ hasn’t shown them to me yet, with his love for watches. Maybe I will surprise him and get him one for Christmas.

I have a good friend that is a plus size girl. She has been plus size most of her life and has come to accept this. Her husband and family love her just the way she is and she is happy. That is all that matters, right? We were talking the other day and she is planning a special get away with her husband and was wanting to get some special lingerie for the trip. She said she has such a hard time finding anything that is even remotely sexy and cute. Most of the plus size lingerie out there are granny panties and ugle, no-frill bras. She say she was looking for a cute little nights, or a naughty outfit to wear. She finally has to resort to looking on the internet and found Forever New lingerie. She said they had such cute things, both simple and racy. She said she was even able to find some plus size bras that were cute and sexy. She ordered just a few things to start, only because she couldn’t try them on, like you do in regular mortor stores. She said she cannot wait until they come in and she can model them for her husband. I am just happy for her that she was able to find something she liked, that fits good and makes her feel sexy at the same time.
Wow - 4th of July already? I know this is a repeating theme here, but where in the heck has this year gone? Before we know it, Christmas will be here. I actually even saw something this past weekend that woudl make a great Christmas present for my friend, that I am considering going back and buying this weekend. I don’t know if it is because we are so busy with work and the kids activities, but the year is flying fast. Our 4th promises to be a great one. We are heading down to Clearwater to celebrate at our friend’s parents house. Bbqing and swimming, what better way - right? Just pray this year doesn’t end with a trip to the after hours clinic like last year when a smoke bomb exploded in Brenden’s hand.
Last week seems like it was such a long week, and this week isn’t getting any better. My mom was here last week and it was great having her, but having company for 2 weeks is a little long. I took last Friday off, and of course, my only day to sleep in and I was wide awake at 7:30 am. Saturday, we had an office meeting at work at 9:30, so I had to be up early. Then on Sunday, we had to get my mom to the airport and it was again another early morning. Thankfully, after we got home from the airport, I slept for 3 hours. I am really looking forward to this weekend and having 3 days to sleep in =) We are going to my friend’s parents house for the 4th of July, which should be a lot of fun. Saturday, Siarra is having a party and other than that, we don’t have much planned for the weekend. I need a low key weekend - I am tired!
When we bought our house a few months ago, we bought a spec home. I have to admit the price was just too good to pass up. But, we also know this is not our forever home. In about 5 or 6 years, we will probably sell it and buy our “forever” home. Our dream home. After having bought a spec home and having had a house built, I know I like the process of having the house built much better. I like being able to pick the fixtures and colors and add ons that I want, not what someone else has picked out. I would really love for our next house to be custom built. And, I think I found the builder to do it. schumacher homes offers custom homes at a value. Wow - that is one thing you rarely hear. Usually having a custom home built means you are very well off. But not with Schumacher. They offer a value for everyday people like you and me. Now that is a consept I like. If you are looking at buying a house, check out Schumacher. You may be surprised.

Man, I know we need rain, but this past week has been insane. It rained just about every day last week and ALL DAY on Saturday and Sunday. We had plans to go to Clearwater on Saturday, but the rain kinda blew that one. I guess on a good note, I was able to turn my sprinklers off for awhile.
I know this probably sounds wierd, but when I was in the hospital for both of my surgeries, I loved wearing those massaging stockings that they put on you. You know the ones, they massage your legs and help prevent blood clots. They would always feel so good. I wish I could have brought them home. Well, now you can, almost at least. There is a conpany that now offers TED Stockings. Did you know that even after you leave the hospital, you are still at risk of getting a blood clot? TED Stockings reduces that risk during your recovery. I know one time my boss in Colorado had surgery and came back to work too soon. He started having chest pains and when he went to the hospital, he was minutes away from having a stroke because his blood was clotting. These stockings would have saved him from dealing with that.

Thank Goodness it is Friday - right!!!! I am so looking forward to having a quiet weekend. Tomorrow, Siarra has a fund raiser for cheerleading in the morning. Then tomorrow evening, we thought we would head to Clearwater to the sunset celebration. On Sunday - my mom is going to visit a friend for awhile and I plan on laying on the couch and vegging ALL DAY!!!! The past few weeks have been pretty busy, both at work, home and on the weekends, so I am ready for relaxation. What do you have planned for the weekend?
One of the things I would love to do is have laser hair removal. I get so tired of shaving and niking myself every other day. I am just really chicken that it will hurt. I do have a friend that while they were vacationing in Arizona that went to a medical spa Phoenix center while they were there and had the laser hair removal and cellulite reduction. I would love to go do something like this, and what better time than while you are vacationing. Just think of how great you will look and feel when you return home. She said the clinic in Phoenix was fabulous too. You couldn’t even tell you were about to have a medical procedure performed. Now that is what I call a vacation.
When the 7th Harry Potter book came out, I remember reading through it so quickly because I wanted to get to the end and see if he lived or not. I did read the whole book, but it was fast. While reading it though, it referenced a lot of things I had forgotten in the previous books, so this summer when TV is full of reruns, I decided to re-read all 7 books. I started about a week and a half ago and am already on book 4. Re-reading them made me realize how much the movies change things or completely leave them out. They are definitely a series of books you can read over and over and never tire of.
I remember when I was going through chemotherapy and lost my hair, I was devastated!!! I know it may seem vain to think, but without hair, I felt so ugly! I truly am not looking forward to getting older and my hair thinning. It is already thin enough. A lot of people who go through chemotherapy and loss their hair, have it come back in nice and thick. Not me, it came in as thin as it was before. I was just happy it came back, honestly. One thing I know for sure, if my hair does start thinning as I get older, I will definitley be looking into some kind of treatment to help prevent it. I did see an ad the other day for a company called Avanti. They offer laser hair therapy for people who are suffering from hair loss. The hair restoration Irvine and Los Angeles clinics have helped hundreds of people who are not ready to deal with losing their hair.
I was so tired yesterday. I slept horrible the night before and the last time I looked at the clock, it was 2AM!!! Since I have to get up by 6:30 (this week at least since I don’t have to take Brenden to school), 4 1/2 hours is not enough sleep. I felt like the walking dead yesterday. Luckily, I was able to get to bed around 9:30 last night and slept great. What a difference a little sleep can make.
With my mom here visiting, and Russ and I at work during the week, she was thinking of renting a car next week to take the kids to go do things, like the movies and lunch and stuff. I have to admit though that it makes me a little nervous and she is a very nervous driver to begin with and when she is not familiar with where she is going, she gets even more flustered. I was thinking of maybe instead of her renting a car, to look into a Car Hire Florida service to take her around. She could just call them on the days she wants to go out and they will pick her and the kids up and take them anywhere they want to go. Now I just need to explain it to her so she doesn’t get her feelings hurt or think we don’t trust her driving. I do, really, I just think since she is not familiar with the Wesley Chapel and Tampa area, this would be a better way for her to get around. Also, unless she planned on driving a lot, this might actually be cheaper anyway.

Saturday was a very gross day at our house. It all started when Russ and Siarra went out back to clean off the patio. Our glass door has 3 doors to it. He was cleaning the windows and such and noticed a frog had gotten squished between two of the doors, on the inside of the house. Ewwwww!!! He ended up having to take the doors off and scrap everything off - it was so disgusting!!! Then, since my mom was coming to visit, I pulled out the coffee pot to get ready for her and whoever used it last (we don’t drink coffee, so it is rarely used), had left a coffee filter in it. Another Ewww- I scrapped all the crap out and soaked it in bleach to clean it. It was just an Ewww day for us.
One of my favorite things about cold evenings in slipping into my pjs, and a nice pair of warm, fluffy socks. I have a few pairs that you really can’t wear with shoes, the are all fuzzy and soft. The kids love them too, especially on cold nights. Brenden doesn’t have his own because we haven’t found any for boys, but he loves to wear mine and run and slide on the tile. I found this site called Hue that offers all sorts of comfortable socks. I will definitely have to check out their site. Even in the summer time, if the air is on, my feet will get cold and I’ll pull out my fluffy socks. And lets face it, you can never have too many warm, fluffy socks, right?

yep, believe it or not, but it is still hot in our office. My boss is actually pretty ticked at this point. I guess he didn’t know beforehand that the air was going to be out for 3 days now. They are suppose to have it up and running by 11:00 a.m., which is right now. I really hope it is. I was so drained when I got home last night, I fell asleep for about 30 minutes and then showered before I could even function. It is going to make for another very long day if it is not working soon.
I was fortunate enough to never have to go through acne during my teen years. Yeah, I would get one here and there, especially close to that time of the month, and I still do now, but Siarra hasn’t been so lucky. Last year, she had a pretty bad case of acne. I had heard about proactiv solution on TV and the radio, so we thought we would give it a try. And uess what, it worked. You could definitley tell when Siarra used it and when she didn’t. The treatment system wasn’t at all expensive, maybe $20.00, but it included the treatment, plus a refining face mask and a guide to preventing future outbreaks. Siarra has been pretty diligent in following with the treatments and the advise in the guidebook and you can certainly tell a difference.

I can’t believe Father’s Day is already this weekend. This year is just flying by. I am not sure what we are doing yet, but since our plans to go to Downtown Disney and the HardRock Cafe for dinner next Saturday is cancelled since Siarra has a fund raiser for cheerleading, I think we might actually go for Father’s Day. We really didn’t have any other plans for the day since I scrapped the idea of going to the zoo.
Need I say more! I absolutely love chocolate. I mean, really - who doesn’t. I like the everyday chocolate you can get at the stores, but I also love gourmet chocolates too. During the holidays, we especially try to get different type os gourmet chocolates for the kids to try, just to widen their taste buds. I also like to send out special chocolates as gifts. I recently came across this really cool website called Gertrude Hawk Chocolates, that specializes in gourmet chocolates. They have everything from dark chocolate (which I don’t care for, but I know someone perfect to get it for), chocolate covered cherries, and fresh fudge. They even carry sugar free chocolate. With my mom’s boyfriend being diabetic, this would be the perfect gift for him. Mmmm - just talking about all this chocolate is making me hungry for it. I wonder if they have an express delivery.
